The Northern Territory is one of the better regimes in Australia; it is an efficient code insofar as it is one of the more succinctly drafted codes, however, it has picked up a few of the negative aspects of the other states in Australia. On balance, however, the legislation suggests that due consideration has been given to providing some priority and importance to the mineral sector within the state.
